Site Changes

We'd made some changes to the website since last semester, so here are some examples of what's different and what we're working on:

  • reorganized tabs and contents
  • adjusted layout flexibility and mobile template view
  • changed background image into a potential location with our film title
  • created a live calendar in which we can share events and schedules aka our timeline
  • drafted some Meet the Team posts (coming up soon)
  •
As or future changes, we're thinking about having some behind the scenes footage and extras, possibly doing some vlog-ing by group members, updates on project progress, getting rid of the bottom "Home" button, etc..

What do you think we should do to improve your navigation and involvement in this project? Leave a suggestion int eh comment section below and we'll take it into consideration. Let's have fun with this!

Welcome!

The Corner Store

I will get up and cross the street to the store
where an old man reaches cans on high shelves
with a metal armed pincer
then settles his body in a chair by the door.
He will talk of the weather long if I listen
remembering hurricanes, harvests and storms
a snowfall in May after which
snow filled the cups of the tulips and glistened.
He will pack my pears in a brown paper bag
take the time
to twist brown paper ears. There is a feel
of dust in the closing door as it chimes.

Hello and welcome to our blog.
We are a group of visual anthropology students at San Francisco State University making a short documentary film about "corner stores" and the role they play in their communities. Here you will find weekly updates, see trailers, and have an opportunity to let us know what you think!
